Per-page Open Graph cards

Thirty-one cards, one per route, generated 26 Jul 2026. Today the whole site shares a single /assets/og.png, so every link anyone pastes looks identical whether it points at the leaderboard or at Qatar.

Nothing here is live. build/lib/html.js still points every route at the one generic image. Wiring these up changes what a shared link looks like, which is a visual change, and the ship policy stages those for review. The change is two lines: the og:image and twitter:image tags.

How they are made

node build/make-og.js [outDir] in the wifiodds repo. Opt-in, like build/make-brand.py. It must never join prerender.js: it shells out to headless Chrome 31 times.
Chrome rather than Pillow, because Pillow will not install here. Homebrew's python 3.14.6 ships a pyexpat built against a libexpat it does not have, so pip cannot run at all. Chrome turned out to be the better tool: the cards are laid out with the site's own tokens in the site's own self-hosted Source Serif, so a card cannot drift from the page it advertises.
No card invents a figure. An airline card prints that airline's own ConnectScore, band word, equipped-of-fleet count, system and as-of month, straight from assets/airlines.js. Every other card's headline is that page's own <title>, read off the built HTML.
The band colour and band word are computed with a copy of band() and BAND_WORD from build/lib/pages.js, so a card says what its page says. The first draft used scoreAirline().cls, which returns the extension's class names (usl-pct-mid). Every colour lookup missed and all 31 scores rendered in the default brown. It only showed up by opening one.

Open questions for you

Light card on a dark-default site. A social card lands in somebody else's feed, usually white, so these are the light tokens. Worth a second opinion.
The scores move. A card baked today says 48 for United; the page will say something else in a month, and a scraper caches the image. Either regenerate on the daily refresh (which puts Chrome in the 04:32 path, and I would not) or accept the drift on cards that carry a number, or drop the number from the card and keep the name and the band word.
1200×630 at 1×. A 2× render is sharper on retina but doubles the bytes and the meta tags have to say 2400×1260.
