Band contrast, measured

Staged for review by the wave 3 accessibility pass, 26 Jul 2026. Nothing here is on wifiodds.com and nothing here should be until you have looked at it. The chips below are rendered at the real .band size and weight, on the three real surfaces.

The finding in one sentence. The band word beside each score is the site's deliberate non-colour signal, and for two of the four bands that word does not itself meet AA for small text on the surfaces it sits on. A reader who cannot trust the colour is handed a second signal that is also hard to read.

Dark theme — the boot default, so this is the one to look at first

What I am NOT proposing

The third finding, which is separate

--line is the only boundary on every text input, select and textarea. WCAG 1.4.11 wants 3:1 for a control boundary. Decorative dividers are exempt, which is why the proposal is a new scoped token and not a change to --line itself: darkening --line would move every card edge and every ghost button on the site.
